The Artistry of Andy Duroe: Following his Muse

When U.K. artist/musician Andy Duroe locked his doors and switched off his phone last year for several months to write his first book and epic fantasy journey revealing that ever pressing question, “Why are we here?”, he was essentially doing what he has always done. That is to say he was following his muse.

In Desperate Search of the Lesser Spotted Pink Salamander from Ghangi Blah not only takes us along a colorful quest with ferociously furry “gaudy critters” but serves as a reminder to author and reader alike that Art can many times be appreciated as a two-fold experience; one of a cathartic process for Artist and one of a mystical form for Beholder.
The idea that Andy’s works and talents come from a deeply spiritual place is not a new one. From an early age he has been devoted to the arts of music, painting, sculpting, writing, and especially all things Faerie.
Coming Soon: a new book entitled “The Art of Photographing Faeries” a comprehensive assemblage of photographs, artwork and faerie lore collected during the last ten years.

Indeed..Andy’s art is stunning and filled with beautiful, subtle nuance.
..As is his new album, Didgeridoo vs Hang drum, a ten song CD that tastefully stirs together today’s electronic beats with the indigenous sounds of Didgeridoo and Hang drum. And true to form, Andy Duroe as Eat Your Guru, once again connects with his muse while sharing with us a trick or two along his path as author, artist, musician and poet.
Andy Duroe has spent many years traveling the earth as a mulyi-talented musician and artist gathering many faerie related sightings, stories, tales and folklore along the way.

When the skin on your face
goes tight like a drum,
and the pounding of your
heart is second to none.
When the hair on your
neck feels like pins of ice,
and your quivering
belly feels warm and nice.
When a silent shadow
falls over your sole,
and to be here forever,
becomes your undying goal.
In your eyes there’s a
sparkle and also a tear,
then one thing for sure
the Fairy’s are near
